More and more visitors are finding their way to the Repair Café in Delft. We repair every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at two locations. We could use extra help from expert volunteers!
Are you handy with electrical appliances, with audio, video, toys, furniture, or with the sewing machine? The Repair Café is committed to sustainability. Repairing together is always pleasant. Even when a repair does not succeed, it remains fun and rewarding work.
We are currently primarily looking for volunteers who, in addition to repairing items, would also like to help organize our Repair Café. To give you an idea, these are some of the activities we offer:
* Reception: During our repair meetings, you welcome and register visitors and direct them to the repair technician who will be assisting them.
* Café: During the repair meetings, you provide volunteers and visitors with coffee or tea, and perhaps a piece of cake.
* Hanging banners: These need to be hung a week before the meeting (using two people and a ladder) and taken down on the Saturday of the meeting.
* Ambassador: You will represent our Repair Café at activities organized by other environmental organizations.
* Scheduling reported repairs: Scheduling reported repairs on time and for the correct repair technician in our automated monitor. Computer skills are required for this.
* Day management: Coordinating activities at the repair meetings. Some organizational skills or experience are required for this.
* Board member: If you have organizational talent and would like to join the current board, you are very welcome.
For all these additional activities, the following applies: You will first have the opportunity to experience how we work, and then we will thoroughly instruct you on the details of these activities and guide you through the initial steps.
